About Us

Paper Plate Labs started the way most great things do: with a stack of paper plates, a vague idea, and absolutely no business plan. We are a lab in the loosest possible sense of the word. There are no white coats here. There are no beakers. There is, however, a printer that jams every Tuesday and a coffee maker that has unionized.

We exist to test things

Small things, weird things, things that probably should not be tested. Our motto is “disposable by design,” which sounds clever until you realize it just means we expect most of what we make to end up in the recycling bin. That is fine. The good stuff stays. The bad stuff becomes a lesson, a blog post, or a cautionary tale we tell new hires on day one.

Our team

Our team is small, scrappy, and powered almost entirely by curiosity and snacks. We post. We test. We fail. We occasionally stumble into something that works, and when that happens, we high-five and immediately try to break it again. It is a healthy cycle. Our therapists say otherwise.

No polish. No promises. Just experiments.

If you are looking for polish, big promises, and a sleek corporate origin story involving a garage and a vision, we are not your people. If you are looking for honest experiments, transparent failures, and the occasional small win that makes you tilt your head and say “huh, neat,” then welcome. Pull up a folding chair. We have plenty. They are also disposable.
